SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- After a 10-day break, the Bryant University field hockey team returns to its Smithfield, R.I. home to host Colgate University, Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. This is just the second home game of the 2009 season for the Bulldogs, who are 1-5 overall. Colgate enters the contest with a 1-7 record.

HOME SWEET HOME
The Bulldogs' sole win on the season came the last time they played at the Bryant Turf Complex, when they took a 3-1 win over visiting Lehigh University on September 5, 2009. Junior Elise Boissoneau and sophomores Courtney Landi and Aly Czerniak scored goals in the contest, while senior captain Kundayi Mawema made seven saves for the win.

LAST TIME OUT
Bryant suffered a 2-0 road loss on September 16 at the hands of a tough Fairfield University side. The Bulldogs were outshot, 12-7, on the day, while Mawema made seven saves on the game. Landi led the Bryant offense with three shots, two of them on goal.

MAWEMA STRONG AS EVER
The senior leader between the pipes for the Black and Gold, Kundayi Mawema is having yet another stellar season for the Bulldogs. Her 8.67 saves per game are good for 10th in the nation, while her .754 save percentage ranks 26th in the country. She has played all 420 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs this season and boasts just a 2.83 goals against average, despite having faced 123 shots in just six games.
