Men's Basketball Picked Fourth in NE-10 Preseason Poll

SMITHFIELD, RI --- The Bryant men’s basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference this season according to the preseason coaches’ poll announced today during media day at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

The Bulldogs, 23-10 last season under coach Max Good, earned 173 points and one first-place vote. Bentley College was picked to finish first by the coaches with 218 points and eleven first-place votes. The Falcons return four starters and eleven total letterwinners from last year’s team that went 18-11. Saint Anselm and Southern New Hampshire were tabbed to finish second and third respectively.

The Bulldogs open the season with an exhibition game this Friday at Maryland (8 p.m.) before heading to UConn on Nov. 11 for a 7 p.m. exhibition game at the Hartford Civic Center. Bryant will be led by senior guard Mario Correia (Brockton, Mass.) and 6-11 senior center Mike Williams (Ellington, Conn.). Correia is the top returning scorer for Bryant (12.8 ppg) and is an excellent defender, while Williams (9.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg) holds all of Bryant’s blocked shots records, including 221 career blocks.
