Correia Named NE-10 and ECAC Player of the Week

EASTON, Mass.-- Bryant University senior guard Mario Correia (Brockton, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for Feb. 14,  conference office announced Monday.  

Correia had a career-high 28 points and eight rebounds in the team’s win over No. 24 Saint Anselm on Saturday.  Against Le Moyne on Tuesday, the senior led all scorers with 21 points plus eight rebounds.  For the week, Correia averaged 24.5 ppg on 20-of-40 shooting - including 6-for-11 from three-point range.  Correia is currently second on the team in scoring with 13.7 points per game and has scored more than 20 points in three consecutive games. He is second in the Northeast-10 Conference in three-point field goal percentage at 45.9 percent (28-for-61).     

Bryant is currently 17-6 overall and winners of 10-straight.  The Bulldogs will travel to Saint Michael's on Wednesday before heading to Waltham, Mass this Saturday for a showdown with No. 1 Bentley College.  The team will wrap up the regular season with a road game at Merrimack - the last team to defeat Bryant - next Monday night before the Northeast-10 Conference tournament starts on Saturday, Feb. 26.
