February 8, 2005
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Bryant senior guard Mario Correia scored 21 points as the Bryant men’s basketball team won its ninth-straight, defeating Le Moyne 56-49 Tuesday night.
Bryant raced out to a 30-14 lead but an 8-0 run by the Dolphins pulled Le Moyne to within 30-22 at the half. In the second half, a three-pointer by Correia drained a long three to push the lead back to 16 as the Bulldogs continued to move up in the conference standings while Le Moyne dropped to 6-12 in conference.
Dan Hammond had 10 points while John Williams and Nate Sudlow each had eight points while Mike Williams had six points. Mike Williams also added six rebounds and six of the Bulldogs’ nine blocked shots.
Bryant limited Le Moyne to its lowest scoring output and lowest field goal percentage from the field for the season. The Dolphins were 15-of-59 from the field for 25.4 percent. Bryant's strong defense also forced Le Moyne into 16 turnovers in the game.
Junior Sid Pond had 13 points for Le Moyne.
