The Bulldogs return to action Saturday with a road contest at the College of Saint Rose (14-4, 8-0 NE-10). Bryant has been idle since Monday’s 75-57 win at American International while Saint Rose - ranked No. 3 in this week’s NCAA Northeast Regional Poll - fell to Southern N.H., 70-45 Thursday night in Manchester, N.H. After dropping three-straight, the Bulldogs have won two in-a-row and take a 9-6 overall record (5-6 NE-10) into Saturday’s game in Albany, N.Y. This will be the second meeting between Bryant and Saint Rose with the Golden Knights winning 93-71 in Smithfield earlier this year.

FIRST MEETING WITH SAINT ROSE - GOLDEN KNIGHTS PREVAIL 93-71

Adonist Barber matched a career-high with 30 points and added ten rebounds as Saint Rose rolled to a 93-71 win over the Bulldogs in Smithfield on Nov. 28. The Bulldogs led 15-10 early but a 14-2 run by the Golden Knights turned the game around. The visitors held a 44-38 lead at the break and scored 49 points in the second half. Cullen McCarthy had 17 points for Bryant - including five three-point field goals while John Williams was held to just 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor. Saint Rose shot 57.4 percent from the floor and made 18-of-25 free throws while Bryant shot 41.5 percent and made just 10-of-27 three-point field goals and were out-rebounded 41-30.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS

After a 13-2 start, the Saint Rose men’s basketball team has dropped two of its last three, falling to UMass Lowell in overtime and at Southern N.H. 70-45 Thursday. The Golden Knights, second in the conference in scoring offense (81.3 ppg) were held to a season-low 45 points against SNHU. Adonist Barber leads St. Rose with 16.2 ppg and 7.9 rebounds per game. Brad Shove is second with 15.4 ppg and 46 three’s. Saint Rose, is second in the conference entering Saturday’s game with 17.44 assists per game and very sound defensively, averaging 11.33 steals per game (2nd) and at the same time, forcing opponents into an average of 22.2 turnovers per game - second in the conference to only Pace (22.3).

MIKE WILLIAMS MAKES PUSH IN RECORD BOOKS

Senior Mike Williams became the 28th player in Bryant school history to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career Dec. 20, 2004 in the team’s win at Holy Family in Philadelphia. Williams, the owner of Bryant’s school career blocks (250) and single season blocks (90) records, has 828 career rebounds (3rd all-time). Williams needs 41 rebounds to pass former teammate Jason Noel (868) for second. Ernie DeWitt’s is the all-time rebound leader with 1,036. Williams had a solid game vs. Assumption on Jan. 15 with a career-tying five assists, not to mention seven boards, 2 blocks, 3 steals, 6-for-7 shooting from the floor in 31 minutes. Williams held Assumption’s Brian Robinson (17.4 ppg) to just four points in the game. Against AIC on Monday, Williams was 5-for-6 from the floor with 10 points and seven rebounds.

JOHN WILLIAMS TAKING CARE OF THINGS FROM THE OUTSIDE

Junior John Williams, third in the conference in scoring with 21.1 ppg leads the Northeast-10 with 3.64 three-point field goals made per game this year AND 3-point FG percentage at 47.7 percent entering the week. Williams has made 51 of 107 from beyond the arc this year. He had 67 three’s as a freshman. The school record for three’s in a season is 87 by Romuald Augustin last year.

Saturday’s game at Saint Rose will be the 104th game coached by Max Good at Bryant. It will also be Good’s 351st as a head coach in 13 seasons ... After posting a 12-3 record at home last season, the Bulldogs are 5-4 this year at the Chace Athletic Center ... The win over AIC was the first this year when trailing at the half ... Bryant has just four home games remaining (eight road games including Monday’s game at AIC).
