Bulldogs Defeat Assumption 90-62 For Fifth-Straight Win

WORCESTER, MASS - John Williams had 23 points and Mario Correia added 18 to lead the Bryant men's basketball team to its fifth-straight victory, 90-62 over Assumption here Monday night.
Bryant (7-3, 3-3 NE-10) led 45-35 at the half after shooting 52.0 percent from the floor and grabbing 23 rebounds. In the second half, the Bulldogs stepped up its defensive pressure and used a 27-6 run midway through the second half to put the game out of reach.
A John Williams three from the top of the key made it 60-44 and the Bulldogs were off and running. Back to back put-backs inside on offensive rebounds by Cullen McCarthy helped key the spurt and another offensive putback by Dan Hammond made it 87-52 with just over four minutes remaining.
Bryant will host Bentley Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center.
