Chris Burns Named To Northeast-10 Conference Men's Basketball All-Academic Team

 BRYANT UNIVERSITY'S CHRIS BURNS NAMED TO NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

     SMITHFIELD, RI -  Bryant University junior guard CHRIS BURNS (Merrimack, NH) has been selected to the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic team the conference announced today.  

       Burns, a management major at Bryant, is currently third on the team in scoring this year with 11.8 points per game and has made a personal-best 54 three-pointers this season.  Burns recorded a career-high 29 points in the team's win over Bridgeport earlier this season and last March  was named the Chevrolet Player of the Game in the NCAA Division II Championship game.

     To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must be a starter or significant contributor, achieved a 3.2 cumulative GPA, and completed at least one academic year at their respective institution. 

     Bryant (16-7, 11-7 Northeast) is currently ranked No. 4 in this week's NCAA Northeast Regional poll and will return to action this Saturday at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. Tipoff is at 3:30 pm.
