Bryant's John Williams Named Northeast-10 Player of the Week For Second Time; Four Other Bulldogs Honored This Week
BRYANT'S JOHN WILLIAMS NAMED NORTHEAST-10 PLAYER OF WEEK
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University senior guard John Williams
(Springfield, MA) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Men's
Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 30. Williams averaged
23 points per game and drained 18 three-pointers in three games for
the Bulldogs last week. Bryant will host UMass Lowell Wednesday
night.
Williams dropped in a season-high 30 points Saturday at Franklin Pierce on 9 of 21 shooting including six for 11 from three-point range. He had 26 points last Tuesday at Pace, adding seven 3-point field goals and six assists.
In addition to Williams' honor, women's basketball juniors Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, Conn.) and Joanna Skiba (Providence) were named to the weekly honor roll. Rubenoff averaged 11.5 ppg and 11.5 rebounds per game last week while Skiba averged 14.5 ppg including 19 against Southern Connecticut on Thursday.
Track and Field sprinters Hafiz Greigre (Attleboro, MA) and Natasha Stevenson (Haverhill, MA) were also named to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll after setting three school records last week at Wesleyan. Greigre set Bryant's record in the 400 meters while Stevenson, a junior, set new records in the 55 meters and 400 meters. .
