Bryant Men's Basketball Coach Resigns To Take Position at Loyola Marymount
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's basketball coach Max Good has resigned to take an assistant coach position at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Calif. The announcement was made this afternoon by Director of Athletics Bill Smith. Good recently completed his seventh season at Bryant University, leading the Bulldogs to an 18-13 overall record in 2007-08 and fifth-consecutive berth in the NCAA Division II tournament. During his seven seasons in Smithfield, R.I., Good posted a 132-86 (.605) overall record, highlighted by a trip to the NCAA Division II Championship game in 2005.

Men's Basketball Signs Two More To National Letters of Intent

Bryant Comes Up Short of Trip To Finals as Top-Ranked Bentley Defeats Bulldogs 60-41 Sunday
WALTHAM, Mass. – What had the makings of a tight game early on turned into a run away as the Bentley Falcons showed why they are the top team in the land in cruising past Bryant, 60-41 to advance to the NCAA Northeast-10 Regional Championship Tuesday night where they will face Assumption College. Bryant, making its fifth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA championships, ends its season at 18-13. This is the final season for the Bulldogs in Division II as the school moves to Division I starting next fall. The game marked the final in the career of senior standout Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ).

MEN'S BASKETBALL TO FACE C.W. POST SATURDAY IN FIRST ROUND OF NCAA'S (8:30 P.M.)
The Bryant University men's basketball team will make its fifth consecutive appearance (seventh overall) this weekend when the Bulldogs travel to Waltham, Mass. for the 2008 Northeast Regional hosted by top-seed and the nation’s No. 1 team Bentley College. Bryant (17-12) enters the eight-team regional as the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seed C.W. Post (26-4) Saturday in the first round at 8:30 p.m. The winner will face the winner of the Bentley and Merrimack game in the second round Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Regional Championship is scheduled for Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Bentley’s Dana Center in Waltham, MA. The regional champion will advance to the NCAA Elite Eight in Springfield, MA March 26-29 for the Division II Championship. Bryant is the only team in the Northeast Region to advance to each of the last five NCAA regional championships.

Men's Basketball's Ezeokoli Named Third Team All-Conference
SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University senior guard Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ / St. Benedict's) has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Third Team All-Conference team the league announced this evening. This is the Ezeokoli's second appearance on the Northeast-10 All-Conference team and his second third team honor. This season, Ezeokoli has started all 28 games for the Bulldogs and is currently leading the team in scoring on the season with 14.3 points per game.

ALBANY, NY – Senior Jon Ezeokoli scored 13 second half points but it was not enough as the Bryant men’s basketball team dropped a 64-61 decision to Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinal round game Monday night at Nolan Gym. The Bulldogs (17-12) will now await word on an NCAA bid when the Division II bracket is announced Sunday evening.

Men's Basketball Travels to Albany, NY Monday to Face Saint Rose in NE-10 Quarterfinals at 7 pm
The seventh-seeded Bryant University men’s basketball team travels to Albany NY Monday night to face second-seed Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinal round game at Nolan Gym. This will be the second meeting this season between the Bulldogs and Golden Knights. Saint Rose handed Bryant an 85-72 loss at Nolan Gym on Jan. 5 despite 26 points from Bulldog sophomore Cecil Gresham. Bryant and Saint Rose last met in the postseason last season with Bryant earning a 65-62 win in the second round of the NCAA Northeast Regionals in Waltham, MA. Jerrann Wright had 11 rebounds in the game. The winner of Monday’s game will advance to the Northeast-10 Conference tournament semifinals Thursday, facing the winner of Monday’s quarterfinal round game between UMass Lowell and Assumption.

Men's Basketball Falls to Stonehill, 63-54 Tuesday Night
EASTON, MA - Guard Peter Lambert (Cumberland, RI) scored a team-high 15 points and senior Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ) added 13 points but it was not enough as host Stonehill College prevailed 63-54 at a steamy Merkert Gym Tuesday night. The loss ends Bryant's four-game win streak but more importantly, the Bulldogs slip to fifth in the conference standings, just a half game behind Stonehill with one regular season game left. Stonehill has two games left. The top four teams in the NE-10 will receive a first round bye in the conference tournament at the end of the month.

WALTHAM, MA - Bryant's Cecil Gresham (Bloomfield, CT) drained a three-pointer with 7 seconds left to put the visitors ahead and the Bulldogs had the best team in Division II on the ropes Saturday afternoon. The game was another classic by the two Northeast-10 Conference rivals, and perhaps the final meeting before Bryant moves to Division I next year unless the two squads meet up again in the postseason. SYRACUSE, NY - Led by a game-high 17 points from sophomore Chris Birrell (Scituate, RI) and 46 percent shooting from the floor, the Bryant University men's basketball team topped Le Moyne College, 73-52, at Grant Court Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs (10-8, 6-7 Northeast-10) entered halftime in a 33-33 draw with the Dolphins (9-9, 7-6) after Birrell led Bryant to a 40 percent clip from the floor in the first frame with nine points.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sam Carey scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Chase Miller and Troy Brown each added 15 points as visiting Southern New Hampshire picked up a 73-62 win over Bryant University in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball action Wednesday here at the Chace Athletic Center. Bryant (9-8, 5-7 NE-10) entered the game second in the conference in scoring defense but Southern New Hampshire took advantage of several key offensive rebounds in shooting 54 percent from the floor in the game and out-scoring Bryant 22 to 14 in the paint. The Bulldogs will look to get back on track when they return to action Saturday at Le Moyne.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - On the back of a game-high 24 points from sophomore Chris Birrell (Scituate, RI), including five 3-pointers, the Bryant University men's basketball team beat Pace University, 76-75, in overtime Thursday night at the Goldstein Center. Bryant (8-8, 5-6 Northeast-10) came out to take an early 15-5 lead, despite being without leading-scorer Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ). The Bulldogs maintained a double-digit advantage through the 8:44 mark, when Pace (7-7, 6-3) began to move in on the lead.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Greg Twomey scored five of his 18 points in overtime as visiting Assumption College held off a late second half surge by host Bryant to earn a 74-72 win over the Bulldogs in Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday night. The win improves the Greyhounds to 12-4 overall (passing last year's win total of 11) and 6-3 in league play. Bryant, which played the entire second half and overtime period without leading scorer Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ) who left midway through the first half with an ankle injury, was led by Cecil Gresham's (Bloomfield, CT) 15 points and 13 rebounds. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 8-7 on the season (4-6 NE-10). The Bulldogs travel to Pace on Thursday evening.

ALBANY, NY - Despite a career-high 26 points from sophomore forward Cecil Gresham (Bloomfield, Conn.), the Bryant University men's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the College of Saint Rose, 85-72, Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs (8-6, 4-5 Northeast-10) went up 5-0 to start the game, taking a 10-7 lead over the Golden Knights (10-3, 7-1) at the 14-minute mark. The two teams kept it close for the majority of the first frame until Saint Rose took a 27-21 advantage with 5:14 showing on the clock.

Bryant (8-5, 4-4 NE-10) has won five of its last six including an impressive 86-75 win over Merrimack College Wednesday evening at the Chace Athletic Center. Junior guard Pete Lambert (Cumberland, RI)came off the bench to torch the Warriors for a career-high 29 points and set a new school record with 9 three-point field goals in the game. Lambert’s previous best was 18 points at Saint Anselm in November.

The Bryant men’s basketball team returns to Northeast-10 Conference play Wednesday evening hosting Merrimack College in a conference matchup at the Chace Athletic Center. The Bulldogs enter the game riding a season-best three-game win streak and above .500 for the first time this season thanks to a pair of wins last week at the annual Bryant Holiday Tournament. Behind the play of senior Jon Ezeokoli (15.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg), the Bulldogs held off Post University 65-58 in the opener and earned a 61-53 win over Philadelphia Saturday.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Guard Pete Lambert (Cumberland, RI) scored a career-high 29 points and connected on a school record nine 3-point field goals to lead the Bryant University men's basketball team to an 86-75 win over visiting Merrimack College in Northeast-10 Conference action Wednesday evening at the Chace Athletic Center. The Bulldogs return to action Saturday with a conference game at Saint Rose starting at 3:30 pm in Albany, NY.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior guard Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ) scored 17 points and made four free throws in the final minutes as the Bryant men’s basketball team won its third in a row Saturday night, defeating Philadelphia 61-53 in the final game of the Bryant Holiday Tournament at the Chace Athletic Center. Cecil Gresham (left) had a career-best 18 points. The Bulldogs host Merrimack College Wednesday at 7:30 pm.

MANCHESTER, NH - The Bryant University men's basketball team came back to .500 on the season, taking home a 62-54 victory over Southern New Hampshire University Saturday afternoon at the SNHU Fieldhouse. Bryant (4-4, 3-3 Northeast-10) went on a 10-2 run right out of the gates for an early lead that wouldn't last long. The Penmen (2-5, 1-5) would tie it at 10-10 before spotting the Bulldogs another hefty lead, 21-12 with just under 10 minutes to play in the half.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Bryant men's basketball team, pickeD to finish fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference in 2007-08, lost its season opener Saturday afternoon to the University of Bridgeport, 70-49, in the Bridgeport Classic. Junior Jerrann Wright (Cincinatti, Ohio) and sophomore Chris Birrell (Scituate, RI) each pitched in a team-high 13 points while Wright grabbed a game-high 11 boards and shot 5-for-9 from the floor in 33 minutes. Birell recorded the Bulldogs' only two steals of the contest.

Men's Basketball Falls at BYU Wednesday Night in Exhibition
PROVO, Utah – Sophomore guard Chris Birrell (Scituate, RI) scored a team-high 12 points and dished out five assists as the Bryant University men’s basketball team dropped an 83-53 exhibition decision at Brigham Young University Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs, who shot just 33 percent from the floor and made only 5 of 17 three-point field goals, will open the 2007-08 season at the University of Bridgeport Tournament Nov. 17-18. The Bulldogs will face Bridgeport on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Post University (Conn.) Sunday.

HARTFORD, CT - Jon Ezeokoli scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds whhile Ryan McLean chipped in with 10 points and had five board as the Bryant men's basketball team dropped a 100-65 exhibition game to UConn Sunday at the Hartford Civic Center. Bryant will travel to BYU on Wednesday for the final exhibition before opening the 2007-08 season Nov. 17 at the University of Bridgeport.

Men's Basketball Visits UConn Sunday for Exhibition Game at Civic Center. Tipoff at 1 pm.
The Bryant men's basketball team heads to Hartford, Connecticut Sunday afternoon for the first of two preseason exhibition game when the Bulldogs square off with the University of Connecticut Huskies at the Hartford Civic Center. Tipoff is set for 1 pm. This will be the fourth straight year the Bulldogs and Huskies have played in a preseason game with UConn winning the previous three matchups including a 70-45 win last year. All three previous meetings were played at the Civic Center. Bryant will travel to Provo, Utah on Wednesday to face BYU in the final preseason exhibition (7pm MT) before opening the regular season at the University of Bridgeport November 17.

Men's Basketball Picked To Finish Fourth in the Northeast-10 in 2007-08
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - The Bryant University men's basketball team was selected to finish fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference this season by the head coaches as the conference office officially released the 2007-08 Preseason Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs, under the direction of seventh year coach Max Good, return two starters and eight letterwinners from last year's team that posted a 21-11 overall record and reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen for the third time in four years.
