BRYANT MEN'S BASKETBALL PICKED FOURTH IN NE-10

Head Coach Max Good begins his seventh year at Bryant.  The Bulldogs have qualified for four-straight NCAA tournaments.

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. -  The Bryant University men's basketball team was selected to finish fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference this season by the head coaches as the conference office officially released the 2007-08 Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Bulldogs, under the direction of seventh year coach Max Good, return two starters and eight letterwinners from last year's team that posted a 21-11 overall record and reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen for the third time in four years.

While Good must find a way to replace first team all-conference guard Chris Burns (15.5 ppg) who graduated last spring, he'll have plenty of veteran experience returning looking to pick up the scoring pace.

Senior Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ) is back for his senior season after earning third team all-conference honors with 15.1 points per game average.  Ezeokoli started in 30 games as a junior, finishing second on the team with 60 three-point field goals while leading the team with 5.4 rebounds per game.

Junior's Jerrann Wright (Cincinnati, OH), Ryan McLean (Plymouth, MA) and Nick Pontes (New Bedford, MA) are all back and should give the team a strong presence on the inside.   They'll be boosted by the addition of 6-foot-11 Sam Herrick (Nantucket, MA), a transfer from the University of New Hampshire.

The Bulldogs travel to the University of Connecticut in the first of two exhibition games this Sunday (1 pm - Hartford Civic Center).  The team will travel to Brigham Young on Nov. 7 before opening the regular season Nov. 17 at the University of Bridgeport.
