Bryant wraps up non-conference play Friday at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – The Bryant University men's basketball team wraps up non-conference play with a Friday matinee at Dartmouth.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth is 3-6 after a 97-87 loss at Notre Dame Tuesday. The Big Green hit 15 three-pointers in the defeat. Dartmouth's wins have come against Emerson, Loyola Maryland and Maine. 

Five Dartmouth players are averaging double figures in scoring, led by 12.6 points per game from Miles Wright. Brendan Barry is averaging 12.1 points per game and shooting 45.1 percent from beyond the arc.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Dartmouth are meeting for the seventh-straight season with the series tied at three wins each. The Big Green won last year's meeting in Smithfield by a 75-69 score. Ikenna Ndugba (Boston, Mass.) tallied 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds in the defeat. 

LAST TIME OUT: SIENA 87, BRYANT 68
Sophomore Sabastian Townes (Chesapeake, Va.) had 19 points and senior Bosko Kostur (Melbourne, Australia) added 17, but Bryant fell to a Siena squad that hit 12 three-pointers Sunday at Chace Athletic Center. 

BOSKO GETS BUCKETS
Senior Bosko Kostur has been efficient from both two and three in addition to at the line this season. Kostur is shooting 53.1 percent from the floor, 52.5 percent from beyond the arc and 89.5 percent from the free-throw line. 

WE LIKE IKE
Sophomore Ikenna Ndugba is averaging 15.8 points per game over his last 10 games with at least 10 points in all 10. Ndugba has two double-doubles during the streak: a 16-point, 10-rebound outing at Hartford (11/24) and a 17-point, 11-assist performance  at Memphis (12/9). The 11 assists against the Tigers were the most by a Bryant player since Shane McLaughlin's 12-assist night at LIU Brooklyn (2/27/16). 

Ndugba passed Alex Francis for fourth in Bryant's Division I era in assists in the game at Albany (12/6) and now has 191 in his career.

SOPHOMORES TAKING THE NEXT STEP
Bryant's sophomore class - Adam Grant, Tanner Johnson, Ikenna Ndugba and Sabastian Townes - has accounted for 55.4 percent of the team's scoring in 2017-18. All four have elevated their points per game averages from a year ago, while Grant (15.8 ppg), Ndugba (13.8) and Townes (11.8) are the Bulldogs' top three scorers this season. 

CARROLL-ING IN DECEMBER
Freshman Brandon Carroll (Brewster, N.Y.) has been an integral part of the Bulldog lineup in his three December starts. Carroll has averaged 13.0 points per game in the three contests with at least 10 points and five rebounds in all three.

NEXT UP: ROBERT MORRIS
Bryant opens Northeast Conference play Friday, Dec. 29, when the Bulldogs host Robert Morris in the back end of a doubleheader at the Chace Athletic Center. The 3 p.m. tip follows the noon NEC opener for the Bryant women's basketball team vs. Wagner.
