BRYANT MEN’S GOLF WINS LE MOYNE INVITATIONAL

SYRACUSE, NY – The Bryant University men’s golf team turned in one of its finest outings of the year this weekend, taking advantage of strong play from senior David Falcucci to capture the Le Moyne College Springtime Invitational.

David Falcucci opened the two-day tournament with a round of 65, setting not only a new course record but setting a new all-time school low for a single round in Bryant history.

Bryant’s score of 283 on day 1 also marked the lowest one-day total in the history of Bryant golf under coach Archie Boulet – now in his 41st year coaching the Bulldogs.

Bryant wouldn’t let up on the second day, winning the overall tournament five strokes ahead of second-place St. Thomas Aquinas 580 to 585.

Dave Falcucci carded a 69 on Sunday, topping off the round by sinking a 50-foot eagle putt on the final hole. The shot gave him a two-day score of 134, breaking the school record of 135 for a two-day total held by All-American Gary Young.

Brendan Smith finished tied for 5th with a 148 while Dan Falcucci placed tied for eighth with a 149.  Dan Falcucci turned in the shot of the day on Saturday with a hole-in-one on the 150-yard third hole using a seven iron. Jim O’Connell was ninth overall for the tournament at 150 while Mike Phillips was tied for 11th with a 151.
