BRYANT MEN'S GOLF READY TO OPEN NCAA TOURNAMENT

SAVANNAH, GA -- The Bryant University men's golf team spent the past two days finishing up a few practice rounds and are ready to open the 2005 NCAA Division II Championship Tuesday morning.  The Bulldogs are scheduled for an 8:50 a.m. tee time along with Washburn and Rollins.  Fans can follow the live action courtesy of www.golfstat.com

Bryant is making its 25th appearance in the NCAA finals and 27th overall in the NCAA Championships.

Last week, the Bulldogs captured their fourth-straight NCAA Regional Championship and eighth regional title with a 13-stroke win at the regional championship in New Jersey. The Bulldogs were led by the strong play of junior Jim O'Connell (Troy, N.Y.) who earned co-medalist honors with a three-day score of 220.

Brenden Smith (North Attleboro, MA) shot a 78 on the final day while Mike Philipp (Bristol, Conn.) fired a final round of 77.

Bryant's senior duo of Dan Falcucci and Dave Falcucci of Northboro, Mass. have qualified for four NCAA Finals during their stellar four-year career.  David Falcucci set a school record earlier this season for a low round of 65 at the Le Moyne Springtime Invitational and after a second round of 69 the next day, established a new school record for a two-day low of 134.
