BRYANT MEN’S GOLF 10TH AFTER FIRST DAY OF
71ST NEIGA GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Bryant University men’s golf team is currently 10th place following the first round of the 71st annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Championship held at The Captain’s Course on Cape Cod.

Competing along with 46 colleges and universities from across New England including all three NCAA Divisions, the Bulldogs got off to a great start to the tournament thanks to a strong round from senior Jim O’Connell (Troy, NY).  O’Connell went out with a 38 and shot 35 on the back nine to finish with a 73, just one stroke over par and four strokes behind overall leader Jason Parajeckas of UConn.  O’Connell will open the final round Tuesday in sole possession of eighth place. 

Jeremy Hall shot an 80 on Monday to finish tied in for 53rd  while Brenden Smith (North Attleboro, MA) came into the clubhouse with an 82 good for 83rd overall.  Other scorers include Rob Rooney (82 – 83rd place) and Kris Hart (84 – 112th).
