BRYANT MEN’S GOLF 13TH AFTER FINAL DAY OF 71ST NEIGA GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Bryant University men’s golf team finished 13th overall at the 71st annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Championship held at The Captain’s Course on Cape Cod.  The Bulldogs were 10th overall after Monday’s first round and closed out the tournament with a score of 317 to finish with a team total of 634. 

Competing along with 46 colleges and universities from across New England including all three NCAA Divisions, the Bulldogs were led by the play of senior Jim O’Connell (Troy, NY) moved up from eighth place to finish seventh in the final standings with a score of 148 (four over par) after firing a 75 Tuesday.   UConn’s Jason Parajeckas was the only player to shoot under par in the tournament, finishing five under par at 139. 

Brenden Smith (
North Attleboro, MA) made the biggest jump in the standings for the Bulldogs, finishing tied for 49th with a score of 158.  Smith was 83rd after opening with an 82 but came back strong Tuesday with a round of 76.

Jeremy Hall
placed tied for 92nd overall, Rob Rooney was tied for 109 with a 165 and Kris Hart finished tied for 142nd with a 170.
