Men's Golf Finishes Third at St. Thomas Invitational

Bulldogs Finish Third at St. Thomas Aquinas

SPARKILL, NY - (9/13/05) The Bryant University men's golf team opened the 2005 fall season with a third-place finish at the St. Thomas Aquinas Invitational over the past weekend.  Brenden Smith (right) was the top finisher for the Bulldogs with a two-day total of 153 to finish tied for third overall. The Bulldogs travel to the Dowling Invitational this weekend on Long Island.

Smith, a senior from North Attleboro, shot a 77 on the first day and closed with a 76, just two shots behind overall winner Tom Dorso of Post who claimed medalist honors with a 150.  Jim O'Connell of Troy, NY was next at 11th with a 156 while Mike Philipp (Bristol, Conn.) scored a 162 to place tied for 22nd.
