Men's Golf Finishes Season at Division II NCAA Championships With 20th Place Finish
HOUSTON, TEXAS - The Bryant golf team's 2008 season concluded Saturday at the Division II NCAA National Championships at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. The Bulldogs finished 20th with a three-round total score of 1189 (+69). The Bulldogs were led by senior Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.), who carded a final round 70 (E). Congdon finished tied for 45th overall, best on the team. West Florida won the overall championship in a playoff with Northern Alabama and St. Edward's.

Bryant's Thresher Named to Division II Northeast Ping All-Region Team
Norman, Okla. - Bryant sophomore Jason Thresher (West Suffield, CT) has been named to the Division II Ping All-Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Ping All-Region teams are selected based on outstanding season play. The 10 All-Region teams consist of a 10 players and are selected by GCAA all-region committees. Thresher shot a three-round 229 to help lead the Bulldogs to the NCAA's East/Northeast super-regional championship and is currently playing at the NCAA Championships in Houston, Texas.

BRYANT GOLF WINS SUPER REGIONAL BY ONE STROKE TO EARN TRIP TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS; BULLDOGS PLACE THREE IN TOP 10
NEW CASTLE, Dela. -- Led by a trio of top-10 finishes, the Bryant University golf team combined to shoot a 916 to take first place at the 2008 NCAA Division II East/Northeast Super Regional, earning its 18th NCAA National Championship appearance and first since 2005.

BULLDOGS TAKE THE TOP SPOT ENTERING FINAL ROUND OF NCAA GOLF SUPER REGIONAL ACTION; THRESHER, CONGDON TIED FOR THIRD
MIDDLETOWN, Dela. -- Sophomore Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.) and freshman Eric Tankanow (Worcester, Mass.) each turned in four over-par performances Tuesday to lead the Bryant University golf team into first place entering the final day of 2008 NCAA Division II East/Northeast Super Regional action. Thresher and senior teammate Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.), who led after Day One, currently sit tied for third with a combined score of 149 after two rounds at the Back Creek Golf Course. Congdon shot a 78 after shooting 71 -- par for the course -- on Monday. The Bulldogs shot a 303 for the day and sit two strokes ahead of second-place Pace University with a total of 603. Post University moved up one spot into third after second-day action (607) after St. Thomas Aquinas fell from first to fourth with a 317 Day Two. Adelphi (322) rounds out the top five in the eight-team super regional.

CONGDON IN FIRST AFTER DAY 1 OF NCAA DII GOLF SUPER REGIONAL; BRYANT SITTING PRETTY IN SECOND ENTERING TUESDAY'S ACTION
MIDDLETOWN, Dela. -- Shooting a course-par 71 in Day One action, Bryant University senior Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.) leads the pack of 45 at the 2008 NCAA Division II East/Northeast Super Regional, leading the Bulldogs to a second-place standing after the first round of the three-day tournament. As a team, the Bulldogs shot a 300 for the day -- 16 over par -- and trail only St. Thomas Aquinas, who shot a 299. Pace University is currently third with a 303, while Post (307) and UMass Lowell (310) round out the top 5 in the eight-team super regional. Congdon's 71 won the day, leading St. Thomas Aquinas's Patrick Schwarze by one stroke. Bryant sophomore Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.) is currently tied for fourth with a 74 after Round One play.

Men's Golf Selected to NCAA Championships
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University men's golf team has been selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division II Golf Championships. A total of 80 teams and 50 individuals were selected to participate beginning with the Super Regionals May 5-7. Bryant, seeded second begins Adelphi, will compete at the Northeast/East Super Regional May 5-7 at St. Annes's Golf Club in New Castle, Delaware. Wilmington College will serve as the host.

Men's Golf Wins Northeast Invitational Friday at URI
PORTSMOUTH, R.I – The Bryant University men's golf team turned in a strong performance Friday at the Northeast Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island. Competing against a field of Division I teams including several from Bryant's future conference, the Northeast Conference, the Bulldogs took home first place honors after the two-round, one-day tourney.

BRYANT GOLF COMES IN THIRD AT MOUNT SAINT MARY'S SPRING INVITATIONAL
LITTLESTOWN, Pa. -- Led by a ninth-place finish from sophomore Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.), the Bryant University golf team took third of 18 teams at this weekend's Mount Saint Mary's Spring Invitational. Thresher's three-round total of 217 tied him for ninth, while senior Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.) golfed a 218 (T-12), as the pair led Bryant to a tournament total of 891, good for third place.

CACCIA TAKES TOP SPOT IN 2008 LE MOYNE INVITATIONAL, LEADS BRYANT TO TIE FOR SECOND PLACE
MARCELLUS, NY -- Bryant University senior Nick Caccia (Riverside, RI) took first-place honors this weekend at the Le Moyne Invitational, finishing the two-day tournament with a 144 for the course to lead the Bulldogs to a second-place finish at the Links at Sunset Ridge April 12 and 13. Caccia shot three over par for a 75 after Day 1 and entered Sunday's play in a three-way tie for sixth place. But after shooting three under par (69) to be the low man on Day 2, the senior came in with the lowest overall score, his 144 topping the second-place finisher by one stroke.

Thresher Finishes Tied For First To Lead Men's Golf at Yale
NEW HAVEN, CT – Bryant University sophomore Jason Thresher (West Suffield, CT) earned co-medalist honors with a brilliant two rounds at the Yale Spring Opener over the weekend in New Haven. Thresher finished tied for first with a 2-over par 72 on Saturday and 1-over par round of 71 Sunday as the Bulldogs placed 11th out of 21 teams competing. For his efforts, Thresher was named the NE-10 Player of the Week.

Golfers Place Sixth at Flumere Invitational Wednesday
STOW, Mass. – Newcomer Michael Pyne fired a 77 and freshman Eric Tankanow carded an 80 as the Bryant men’s golf B - team placed sixth at the 35th annual one-day Lou Flumere Invitational hosted by Bentley College at Stow Acres Country Club. The Bulldogs finished with a score of 325 behind overall winner Nichols College (312) and AIC (317). AIC’s Garrett Beyor took first place honors with a round of 72. Pyne, a transfer from UConn, finished tied for fourth with his 77. Alex Daley, Kyle Hoffman and freshman Dan Kokosa all finished tied for 52 with an 84.

Thresher Finishes Tied for Second at GEICO Men's Golf Intercollegiate
SAVANNAH, GA – The Bryant University men’s golf team placed ninth overall at the GEICO Intercollegiate this weekend. The Bulldogs, fourth after day one, got a strong effort from sophomore Jason Thresher (Suffield, CT). Thresher, who was fourth overall after an opening round of 71 moved into a tie for second overall in the final standings with a round of 71 Friday and 75 Saturday.

Bryant Men's Golf Captures New England Division II Championship Tuesday
Brewster, Mass -- The Bryant University men's golf team captured another Division II New England Championship Tuesday at the 73rd annual New England Championship at the Captain's Course in Brewster, Mass. The Bulldogs finished with 614 points, finishing behind only the University of Rhode Island which placed first with 600 points and the University of Connecticut which finished as the runner up with 608. Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.) and Jason Thresher placed tied for eighth overall individually with a two-round score of 151. Mike Philipp was next at 154 to place tied for 23rd overall. Dan Peck and Nick Caccia rounded out the scoring as the pair finished tied for 63rd at 159.

NEW HAVEN, CT - Sophomore Jason Thresher finished in a tie for 21st overall as the Bryant men's golf team competed at the Yale McDonald Cup over the weekend.

Men's Golf Finishes Third at Northeast-10 Championships
The Bryant men's golf team finished third in the final team standings at the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Golf Championships, finishing with 623 points. Bentley won the overall team title with 616 points followed by Assumption at 620. The Bulldogs led after the first round with a score of 304 but shot a team total 319 on Monday. Scott Congdon finished in a tie for fifth in the overall individual standings, shooting a two-day score of 151. Jason Thresher was next at 153. The Bulldogs will travel to Yale this weekend for the annual Yale Invitational.

LOWELL, MA (Sept. 30, 2007) - Senior Scott Congdon (Foxboro, MA) carded a 73 and led four teammates who shot in the 70s as Bryant University established a five-stroke lead after the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Golf Championship Sunday afternoon at Vesper Country Club.

Men's Golf Places Second at ECAC Championships
SYRACUSE, NY - The Bryant University men's golf team placed second overall out of 23 teams competing at the 2007 ECAC Division II Championships at Drumlins Country Club which concluded Monday. The Bulldogs finished with 588 total team points, just shy of overall winner Le Moyne which won the tournament at 585. The Bulldogs will compete at the NE-10 Championships starting Oct. 1.

Men's Golf Opens Season at Rutgers
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Bryant men's golf team opened the 2007 fall season with an 11th-place finish at the Rutgers Invitational, played Sept. 14 & 15 at the Rutgers University Golf Course. South Carolina-Upstate won the 18-team tournament with a three-over par 855 (280-284-291). Bryant was led by Scott Congdon's who finished in a tie for 13th.
