Bulldogs Post Five-Stroke Lead After First Round

LOWELL, MA (Sept. 30, 2007) - Senior Scott Congdon (Foxboro, MA) carded a 73 and led four teammates who shot in the 70s as Bryant University established a five-stroke lead after the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Golf Championship Sunday afternoon at Vesper Country Club.

The Bulldogs scored a collective 304 to take the lead while Assumption College, led by junior Rob Younker (Waltham, MA) and freshman Steve Wolak (North Grosvenordale, CT) who each carded a 76, currently sits in second place with a 309.

Led by McCann, Saint Anselm (310) came in third while Bentley (311) currently sits in fourth behind the efforts of Jasset and Leopold.

UMass Lowell (313) remains in fifth place behind a 75 from junior Anthony Gallardo (Methuen, MA) and has a five-stroke lead over Le Moyne (318), which was buoyed by the play of Joe Tesori and Tim Martins, who each carded a 78.
