MEN'S GOLF WINS NORTHEAST INVITATIONAL

PORTSMOUTH, R.I - The Bryant University
men's golf team turned in a strong performance Friday at the
Northeast Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode
Island. Competing against a field of Division I teams
including several from Bryant's future conference, the Northeast
Conference, the Bulldogs took home first place honors after the
two-round, one-day tourney.
Bryant was the lone team to score under 300 in both rounds. Standout Jason Thresher (right) took medalist honors placing first with a two-round score of 142. Thresher fired a final round 69 to win by one stroke over Matt McClure of Central Connecticut. Foxboro's Scott Congdon placed sixth for Bryant while Nick Caccia of Riverside, RI was seventh. The Bulldogs will compete at the NCAA Regionals May 5-7 in Wilmington, Delaware.
