MEN'S GOLF TIED FOR SECOND AFTER DAY ONE AT GEICO INTERCOLLEGIATE TOURNAMENT

DELAWARE, OHIO- Alex Daley (Hudson, Mass.) shot a 73 to finish one over par and tie him for fourth place overall as he led a Bryant attack that shot a 307 overall to tie them with Seton Hall for fourth place after round one at the GEICO Intercollegiate Tournament on Friday. The Bulldogs are just six shots back of South Illinois, who is in first place after shooting a 301.
Daley shot a 37 on the front nine and 36 on the back nine, as he trails South Illinois' Patrick Scheil by two strokes for first place with one more round to play. Daley was also helped out by junior Mike Pyne (Foxboro, Mass.), as he also finished in the top-20 with his 77. All of the Bulldog golfers finished in the top-50. Kyle Hoffman (Pawtucket, R.I.) came in tied for 30th, just one stroke behind Pyne with a 78, while Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.) and Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.) shot a 79 and 80 respectively.
The Bulldogs will look to continue their strong play tomorrow as they play round two in Delaware, Ohio.
