BULLDOGS FINISH SEVENTH AT FAIRFIELD INVITATIONAL

FAIRFIELD, CONN.-  The Bryant University golf team finished with a two-day total of 640 to finish seventh of ten teams at the Fairfield Spring Invitational. Charleston Southern won the tournament with a team total of 588, shooting a 286 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs improved upon their first day total of 323 by shooting a 317 in day two. Sophomore Alex Daley (Hudson, Mass.) was the high finisher, coming in 20th place with a plus-12, shooting a 156 over the two days. Logan Watts of Lewis University was the overall individual winner, shooting two-under for the tournament, seven strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.

Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.) and Eric Tankanow (Worcester, Mass.) came in behind Daley, as they tied for 26th with a 161. Junior Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.), who shot an 84 on day one, came back with a day two score of 78, placing him 28th overall with a plus-18.

Bryant heads to the Long Invitational for a tournament on Monday and Tuesday.
