Bryant University men's golf team stands tied for fourth place after the first round at the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational. Thresher is currently tied for fifth individually, five-shots behind the leader, Matt Krembel, from Army.
A rain shortened first round forced the teams to play 18-holes instead of the scheduled 36 at Quail Valley Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa. Army holds the overall team lead, shooting a 295 as a team. The Bulldogs are 14-shots off that pace with a 309, but trail Mount St. Mary's by only four-shots for second place. Mike Pyne (Foxboro, Mass.) helped the Bryant cause with a 75 to stand in eighth place, two shots back of Thresher, while Alex Daley (Hudson, Mass.), Kyle Hoffman (Pawtucket, R.I.) and Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.) shot an 80, 81 and 82 respectively.
Bryant continues play with 18 more holes on Tuesday to conclude the tournament before gearing up for the NEC Championships starting on May 1.
