HOUSTON, TEXAS - The Bryant golf team's 2008 season concluded Saturday at the Division II NCAA National Championships at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. The Bulldogs finished 20th with a three-round total score of 1189 (+69). The Bulldogs were led by senior Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.), who carded a final round 70 (E). Congdon finished tied for 45th overall, best on the team.
West Florida won the overall championship in a playoff with Northern Alabama and St. Edward's. [more]
Norman, Okla. - Bryant sophomore Jason Thresher (West Suffield, CT) has been named to the Division II Ping All-Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Ping All-Region teams are selected based on outstanding season play. The 10 All-Region teams consist of a 10 players and are selected by GCAA all-region committees.
Thresher shot a three-round 229 to help lead the Bulldogs to the NCAA's East/Northeast super-regional championship and is currently playing at the NCAA Championships in Houston, Texas. [more]
