BRYANT'S RODRIGUEZ NAMED SECOND-TEAM ALL-AMERICAN;
KUGLER NAMED HONORABLE MENTION BY USILA

SMITHFIELD, RI . –  Bryant University men's lacrosse standouts RYAN RODRIGUEZ (Fairfield, Conn.) and JOE KUGLER (Katonah, N.Y.) have been recently honored by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

     Rodriguez, a senior defensemen for the Bulldogs, was named Second Team STX-GEICO All-American for 2005 after leading Bryant to an 11-6 record and second place finish in the Northeast-10 Conference tournament.

Earning First Team All-Conference honors, Rodriguez had 42 ground balls as a defensemen for the Bulldogs.  The only goal of his career came in dramatic fashion on May 4 as he netted the game-winner in overtime to propel the Bulldogs past Merrimack College and a spot in the conference tournament championship game.

    Kugler, a two-sport standout as a member of the Bryant men's lacrosse and football teams, was named USILA Honorable Mention All-American.

As a defensemen, the senior started all 17 games for the Bulldogs last season.
