Bryant is coming off an 11-6 season in 2005, advancing to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship game for the second straight year. Leading the way for seventh-year coach Rory Whipple, will be co-captains Adam Smith and Tim Duffany.
Smith, a senior midfielder, was second on the team in scoring last year with 27 goals and also finished second with 20 assists. Duffany, the lone returner back on defense, gives the team a physical presence in front of the cage this spring. A preseason All-America selection by Face-Off Magazine, Duffany will be looked upon by the coaching staff as a leader with a unit that consists of sophomore standout Grady Moore and freshman Sean Pasley.
The Bulldogs will also welcome back senior scorer Steve Coppinger. Coppinger, who netted 35 goals in 2004, was forced to miss last season due to an injury but will certainly help carry the load offensively.
Sophomore Craig Buckout and Brent Stoothoff join Coppinger in forming a dangerous scoring attack up front . Buckout notched 25 goals in his first season with the Bulldogs in '05. Stoothoff, nine goals as a freshman, is a hard-to-defend attacker and looks to have a strong season.
Sophomore Michael Kennedy gets the nod in goal this season. Kennedy posted an 8.19 goals against average in splitting time last season between the pipes. He was 4-1 with 77 saves.
The Bulldogs will host New York Tech on Saturday, Mar. 18 for the home opener.
