Bryant Lacrosse No. 9 In First USILA Division II Rankings;
Three Players Earn NE-10 Weekly Honors

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University men's lacrosse team holds down the No. 9 position in the first United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll released this week by the USILA. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 8 by Lacrosse Magazine in its preseason poll, received 107 votes.
Le Moyne received 10 first place votes and is the nation's No. 1 team in the first poll. Dowling and Mercyhurst follow at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Adelphi, which defeated Bryant 6-5 in both team's season openers at the Bryant Turf Field Complex, comes in at No. 6 nationally.
Bryant's next opponent, C.W. Post is ranked No. 5 by the USILA after a 3-0 start. Saturday's game vs. the Pioneers at the Bryant Turf Complex starts at 1 p.m.
In other news this week, junior goalie Michael Kennedy (Port Jefferson Station, NY) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after a 13-save, four ground ball performance against Adelphi last Saturday.
Freshman Brad Burton (Hauppauge, NY) was named the NE-10 Freshman of the Week after tallying his first career goal for the Bulldogs in the game. Sophomore Kevin Hoagland (Glastonbury, Conn.) was named to the weekly NE-10 honor roll with two goals and three ground balls.
