SMITHFIELD, RI - Connor Hayes (Mansfield, MA), Bryant Amitrano (Valley Stream, NY) and John Truscello (Holbrook, NY) all scored three goals as ninth-ranked Bryant University rolled to a 31-3 win over visiting American International College Wednesday night in Northeast-10 Conference action.
The 31 goals is a new school record, surpassing the previous mark of 27 set against Franklin Pierce in 2007 and Saint Anselm in 2003 as the win helped Bryant snap a two-game losing skid and evens the Bulldogs to 1-1 in conference play.
This one was never in doubt as Bryant led 14-0 after one and 18-0 at the half. The Bulldogs led 21-0 before AIC's James St. Cyr broke the shutout with a goal at 12:05 of the third. A total of 17 different players scored at least a goal in the game as the Bulldogs out-shot the Yellow Jackets 62 to 18 in the contest (23 to 0 in the first).
AIC's (1-3, 0-3 NE-10) Nick Abraham and Alex Casparius accounted for the Yellow Jackets' other two goals.
Bryant junior Bryan Kaufmann (Putnam Valley, NY) had a goal and assist to give him 126 total career points, tying him for third all-time in school history with Andrew Serge (2002-05). Goalkeeper Michael Kennedy (Port Jefferson Station, NY) got the win as it was the senior's 30th in his career, tying him with Greg Horowitz (2001-03) for first for all-time career wins.
Bryant will travel to Colchester, VT this Saturday to face Saint Michael's in a Northeast-10 Conference game starting at 1 p.m.
