HARRINGTON NAMED TURFER NEILA PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR FIVE-POINT PERFORMANCE AGAINST SACRED HEART

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University sophomore attacker Travis Harrington (Vestal, N.Y.) has been named the Turfer NEILA Player of the Week for the week ending April 18.  Harrington's game-best five-point performance led the Bulldog offense to a 9-4 victory over Sacred Heart Saturday, April 17 to improve the team's record to 8-4.

Harrington registered his first hat trick of the season and second of his career in the contest, also adding a pair of assists in the home win over the Pioneers, as Bryant moves up to sixth in this week's NEILA poll.

Against the Bulldogs' future conference rival, Harrington scored the eventual game-winning goal with 12:43 to play in the third period as part of back-to-back tallies that gave Bryant a 6-1 lead early in the third. He then added a final score with 12:54 to go in regulation to put the Bulldogs up, 8-3.

The game marked the sophomore starter’s strongest outing of the season and extended his goals-scored streak to 12 games, having recorded at least one score in every game this season. Harrington added three ground balls to his impressive performance Saturday and fired six shots, five of them on target.

The sophomore is now second on the team in scoring and assists in 2010 and is third on the team in goals scored (14,11=25).

The Bulldogs are on the road twice this week, with contests at Holy Cross and at Yale.
