GREER NAMED INSIDE LACROSSE PRESEASON FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN; ON TEWAARATON WATCH LIST AS BRYANT ENTERS INAUGURAL DI SEASON

Graduate student Zack Greer
was named a 2009 First Team
All-American by
Inside Lacrosse.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Three-time All-American Zack Greer (Whitby, Ont./Duke) was named a Preseason First-Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse Monday afternoon, placing him in the company of the rest of the nation's top players as he prepares to lead the Bryant University men's lacrosse team into its inaugural Division I season in 2009.

The NCAA's all-time leading goals scorer with 206 career tallies, Greer transferred from Duke University after receiving his undergraduate degree in 2008. The attackman already has a trio of All-American selections to his name and was a 2008 Tewaaraton Trophy finalist - an award which Inside Lacrosse placed him in the top-5 on its preseason Player of the Year Watch List.

Greer, one of four co-captains, will lead the Bulldogs into their first year of Division I transition in 2009, in which Bryant will play a full DI schedule. Inside Lacrosse ranks Bryant at No. 39 in strength of schedule, as the Bulldogs will face some of the country's top programs in 2009, including such national championship contenders as Virginia, Maryland and Brown.

The first-year Division I program comes in at No. 48 overall, slated to finish ahead of future Northeast Conference-mates Robert Morris, Mount St. Mary's and Wagner.

Bryant will kick off the 2009 season at the University of Virginia on Feb. 16.
