Bulldogs ranked preseason No. 20

Bulldogs tabbed No. 20 in Lacrosse Magazine preseason rankings

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team enters the 2013 season ranked No. 20 by Lacrosse Magazine as the Bulldogs get set to defend their Northeast Conference title and vie for the league's first-ever automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.

Bryant returns seven starters from last season's 14-4 campaign (4-1 in the Northeast Conference), including fully intact top lines at both defense and attack. The Bulldogs also return two-time All-America Honorable Mention longstick midfielder Mason Poli (Downingtown, Pa.) as well as sophomore faceoff phenom and reigning NEC Rookie of the Year Kevin Massa (Huntington, N.Y.). The Bulldogs will, however, face replacing four-year starting goalie and last year's NEC Defensive Player of the Year in the now-graduated Jameson Love, in addition to filling holes left by the graduation of top-five scorers Max Weisenberg and Travis Harrington.

Head coach Mike Pressler returns for his seventh season at the helm in 2013, ready to lead the defending league champion Black and Gold into one of their toughest schedules since joining Division I.

The Bulldogs open the 2013 campaign Saturday, Feb. 9 at home against Colgate (1 p.m.).
