Gould set to join lacrosse coaching staff
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Head coach Mike Pressler is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin Gould to the Bryant University men's lacrosse coaching staff for the 2013-14 season.
A four-time All-New England selection and three-time All-Northeast-10 pick at Bentley University, Gould was a two-time team captain and four-year starter on attack for the Falcons. Bookending his career with major accolades — Gould was named the New England Rookie of the Year in 2007 and an All-American as a senior in 2010 — he started every game of his collegiate career and led Bentley in goals, assists and points for three of his four seasons. He would leave the Falcons ranked in the program's top-five in both points and assists.
At Bryant, Gould will join forces with associate head coach Brad Ross and be responsible for Bryant's offense, primarily working with the Bulldog attack.
"Speaking for our entire program, we are absolutely thrilled to have Kevin Gould join the Bryant staff as an assistant coach for the 2013-14 season," said Pressler. "An outstanding player from Duxbury, Mass., who enjoyed a terrific career at Bentley University, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge to our program, especially at the offensive end."
Upon graduating from Bentley, Gould was selected 39th overall by the Boston Cannons in the 2010 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Collegiate Draft and would spend three seasons with the team, winning the MLL Championship in 2011 alongside Ross.
Prior to arriving at Bryant, Gould spent three seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Duxbury High School, where he helped lead the Dragons to a pair of Massachusetts state titles. At Duxbury, he was responsible for guiding the team's offensive and man-up units, as well as handling scouting and player evaluation.
As a player at Duxbury, Gould was also a two-time state champion and US Lacrosse High School All-American. The Dragons were ranked No. 6 in the nation by Inside Lacrosse during his senior season.
A native of Duxbury, Massachusetts, Gould graduated from Bentley University in 2010 with a degree in business management. He is currently pursuing his Master of Education at Bridgewater State.
