EASTON, MA Bryant University freshman men's lacrosse standout Gary Crowley (Scituate, MA) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Year in 2008 the league announced this week. INDIANAPOLIS-The NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Committee has selected the teams that will compete in the 2008 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Bulldogs of Bryant University (14-3), champions of the Northeast-10 Conference, will travel to Le Moyne (14-1) on May 17 or May 18 for a semifinal matchup with the winner advancing to the national championship May 25 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.
Bryant, under the direction of second year coach Mike Pressler, will be making its first NCAA tournament appearance. The Bulldogs have posted two wins over the Dolphins in the past two seasons including a 5-4 win Sunday in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship in Syracuse, NY. The win ended Le Moyne's 25-game winning streak. Last year, Bryant defeated Le Moyne ending the Dolphins 72-game win streak. [more]
SYRACUSE, NY - Junior Matt McKeefrey (Melville, NY) scored three goals including the game winner in the fourth quarter to lead second-seeded Bryant University to a 5-4 upset of top-ranked Le Moyne in Sunday's Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse championship.
