Men's Soccer Falls to Felician 2-1

RUTHERFORD, NJ ? The Bryant University men?s soccer team lost 2-1 today to Felician College in game played at Rutherford, NJ.

Felician College used an own goal in the 85th minute of the match to defeat Bryant (5-4-0) The match was tied at 1 with just over five minutes remaining in regulation as junior defender Siggi Flosason sent a long ball that was inadvertently headed into his own goal by a Bryant defender.

The Bulldogs tallied first with freshman forward Mike Gargiulo (North Branford, Conn.) scoring off a scramble in front of the goal in the game?s 20th minute. The Golden Falcons answered back in the 41st minute when Flosason took a pass from freshman midfielder Daryel O?Brien and scored the equalizer. The match remained tied until the own goal made the final score 2-1.

Junior goalkeeper Anthony Quarino had four saves for Felician, while Bryant keeper Peter Kostaras (Long Island, NY) had six.

Bryant next game will be Tuesday September 28 when they host Southern Connecticut State. Game time is set for 3:30PM.
