Bulldogs draw a 1-1 tie with 6th ranked Southern Connecticut

October 15, 2005 – NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sixth-ranked Southern Connecticut and Bryant University played to a 1-1 tie in a Northeast-10 Conference men’s soccer game Saturday night at Jess Dow Field.

Southern senior Ilias Calaitzidis (Montreal, Quebec) scored on a penalty kick for the Owls, now 9-2-3 overall and 7-0-3 in the NE-10, in the 41st minute.

Senior Michael Anania (Warren, R.I.) scored an unassisted goal for the Bulldogs in the 86th minute.

Senior Dave Faugno (Stamford, Conn.) made four saves for Southern while junior Alex Bissias (Harpswell, Me.) had eight saves for Bryant, now 6-4-4 overall and 5-3-4 in the NE-10.
