Bryant Men's Soccer Announces Class of 2011
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University men's soccer team welcomes seven newcomers to the squad for the 2007 season. They will also welcome two players who return to Head Coach Seamus Purcell's squad after not playing in 2006. Led by captains Mike Gargiulo and Kyle Tierney, the Bulldogs will train in Hawaii in late August and take on Hawaii Pacific University and Chaminade University of Hawaii on Aug. 24-25. Their home opener is September 8th vs Southern N.H. at 11 a.m. The Bulldogs finished 2006 with a 8-5-3 record.
Below are the seven new Bulldogs:
Jordan Martin: Before Bryant: Four-year varsity athlete in both soccer and golf...Two-time conference champion with Bristol Central High School...Two-time All-Conference...Captain as a senior...two-time golf captain. Personal: Jordan E. Martin was born on April 20, 1989 in Bristol, CT...Son of Ronald and Sharla Martin.
Victor Tutino: Before Bryant: Four-year starter in goal at St. Anthony's High School...Captured New York State Championship as a junior, only state championship in school history...Led team to undefeated regular season and league championship as a freshman...National honor society member...Personal: Victor John Tutino was born on October 31, 1989 in Deer Park, NY...Son of Vic and Sue Tutino.
Norbert Guery: Before Bryant: Four-year member of soccer and track teams at Andover High School...Two conference championships in soccer...Team MVP senior year...Best field event winner in track as senior...four-time all-conference in track...Personal: Norbert Carl Guery was born on September 8, 1989 in Paris, France....Son of Valentin and Valerie Guery.
Tom Nelan: Before Bryant: Four-year member of soccer team at Nathan Hale-Ray High School...All-state and all-conference senior year...Also played baseball, basketball, and golf...Personal: Tom Francis Nelan was born on March 28, 1989 in Middletown, CT...Son of Jack and Celina Nelan.
Erik Lekstrom: Before Bryant: Four-year varsity starter at center midfield...Also played for Juventus USA Club Team..All-State and Central Mass. all-star three years...State finalist Division II senior year...State Cup finalist as senior...Personal: Erik Lekstrom was born on August 23, 1989 in Worcester, Mass....Son of David and Brenda Lekstrom.
Dan Loreaux: Before Bryant: Played three-years of soccer at Duxbury High School...League Champions senior season...US Club Soccer National Champions in 2006 with Cape Cod Crusaders...Also lettered in track for two seasons where he was regional champion...Personal: Dan Scott Loreaux was born on April 19, 1989 in Winslow, NJ...Son of Jeff and Annie Loreaux.
Sean Kaukas: Before Bryant: Led Glastonbury High School to three League Championships and two State Championships...Two-time All-Conference...Named All-State in 2006...MVP of State Championship in 2005...Four-time All-Academic honoree...Personal: Sean L Kaukas was born on September 5, 1989 in Glastonbury, CT. He is the son of Susan and John Kaukas.

Stephen Marcus: Returns to the Bulldogs after not playing in 2006. 2005: Played in 13 games, starting in one, while registering one shot. 2004: Appeared in four games a freshman for the Bulldogs. Before Bryant: Three year starter at Farmingdale High. Captain and all-star as a senior. Also played two years of basketball. Personal: Stephen Eric Marcus was born on June 4, 1986 in Manhassett, NY. He is the son of Lawrence and Sherry Marcus.
Connor Bryant: Returns to the Bulldogs after not playing in 2006. 2005: Played in 17 games, starting in 10. Posted nine shots. Before Bryant: Played soccer at Tinton Falls High School in New Jersey. Transferred to Bryant from Herhimer Community College.
