MEN'S SOCCER LOOKS TO CARRY MOMENTUM INTO FIRST-EVER MATCHUP WITH ARMY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University men's soccer team looks to carry the momentum from Tuesday night's 1-0 victory at Holy Cross into their first-ever contest with Army, today at 3 p.m. on Sutton Field.

Bulldog senior Neil Black (Roslyn Heights, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute to drop Holy Cross to 0-2 on the season. With the win the Bulldogs improve to 1-3 and earned their first ever Division I win on the road. Black was positioned in the right place at the right time on a Bulldog corner late in the game as the ball was sent into junior Tom Nelan (East Haddam, Conn.) who battled multiple Crusader defenders to win the header that was sent to the right foot of Black. The senior was able to one-time volley the ball into the right side-netting past the Holy Cross keeper.

The Black Knights, affiliated with the Patriot League, have a record of 1-2, with their lone win coming against NJIT and losses against Manhattan and Marist.
