MEN'S SOCCER TAKES ON INTRASTATE RIVAL BROWN IN BULLDOG STADIUM AT 3 PM
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The men's soccer team looks for three wins in a row when they take on intrastate rival Brown University today at 3 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium.
The Bulldogs (2-3) come into today's game riding a two-game winning streak with shutout victories over Holy Cross and Army. The Bears have an unbeaten record of 2-0-1 and are ranked ninth in the NCAA Northeast Poll after two weeks of play.
Bryant made the most of their scoring opportunities against Army on Friday scoring two goals in the first half and never looking back. The Bulldogs defeated the Black Knights 3-0 on goals from Matt Brown (South Easton, Mass.), Tom Nelan (East Haddam, Conn.) and Andre Barros (Ashland, Mass.).
The Bears are coming off a successful weekend where the squad picked up its first two wins of the 2009 season to increase their record to 2-0-1 and earn an Adidas-Brown Soccer Classic Championship. Brown had four players named to the All-Tournament team.
