MEN'S SOCCER SQUARES OFF WITH IVY LEAGUE AFFILIATE, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - After an eight day break, the Bryant University men's soccer team squares off with another Ivy League affiliate Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. when it travels to the big apple to take on Columbia University.
In their last game, the Bulldogs (2-4) faced a now nationally ranked Brown University team that edged the Bulldogs, 1-0. The Bears' (4-0-1) defense held strong allowing only six Bryant shots, including just one on goal. Freshman keeper Matt Miscione (Ashburn, Va.) kept things close with the intrastate rival making five saves in the contest.
Columbia University enters Wednesday's match with a 1-4 record, with its lone win coming against Northeast Conference member Long Island University. The Lions are fresh off a 1-0 weekend loss to No. 14 Boston University. The lone tally in the contest came off a Lions' own goal in the 26th minute.
