MEN'S SOCCER TRAVELS TO HOLY CROSS FOR 7 P.M. SHOWDOWN TONGIHT

SMITHFIELD, R.I.-The Bryant University men's soccer team goes up in lights tonight when they face off against Holy Cross at 7 p.m. at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium in Worcester, Mass.

The Bulldogs (0-3) come into the game having lost their first three games of the 2009 campaign but look to rebound under the lights against the Crusaders (0-1). Holy Cross is coming off a 1-0 loss in their season opener at Providence College.

One of the crucial aspects of today's game for the Bulldogs will be developing scoring opportunities created by set pieces.  Junior right back Erik Lekstrom (Worcester, Mass), the primary free kick taker, has been consistent with developing chances off set pieces, but the team has still been unable to put the ball in the back of the net. Lekstrom, who returns to Worcester for a homecoming tonight, hopes tonight's game will be different for the Bulldogs.

Holy Cross was voted to finish fourth in the Patriot League preseason poll, while Crusader forward Kyle Miller was picked to finish as the league preseason offensive player of the year.

Tonight's game kicks off at 7 p.m. You can follow the action by clicking the "Video" link at the top of the page.
