MEN'S SOCCER HOSTS AIC IN FIRST SPRING GAME OF 2009

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant University men's soccer team won their first spring game on 2009, defeating old Northeast-10 foe, AIC, 1-0 at the Bryant Turf Fiield Complex on Saturday morning. Tom Nelan netted the game-winning tally in the 10th minute of play, one-timing a shot into the back of the net after Sean Kaukas rung one off the post. The team hosts four more spring home games in April as they get set for their second season of Division I play.

The women's team will also be in action on Saturday, as they host Holy Cross at 4 p.m at the Bryant Soccer Complex. The Bulldogs went 1-14-1 in their first season at the highest level of collegiate competition, getting their first DI victory over Richmond on September 7. Bryant has five spring home games tabbed for 2009, as they will host URI and Providence in a pair of night games in on April 8 and April 15.
