MEN SNEAK PAST WPI, 93-90, TO STAY PERFECT IN 2007-08

The Bryant men's and women's swim teams stayed perfect Saturday afternoon with a pair of wins over Worcester Polytechnic Institute at the Chace Athletic Center pool. The women moved to 8-0 with a 104-83 victory over the Engineers, while the men edged WPI in their closest meet yet, 93-90.
The men were led by junior standout Tom Ferrigno (West Chester, Penn.), who earned pool and school records with a win in the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.57) and a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (54.94). Ferrigno also swam away with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:01.60.
Sophomore John Cieslewski (Watertown, Conn.) touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke, setting a new pool record with a 1:04.08 mark, while freshman Steven Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.) took top times in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard IM.
Both the men and the women next compete at Bridgewater State, Wed., Jan. 16. at 6 p.m.
