MEN STAY PERFECT WITH WIN OVER BRIDGEWATER STATE WEDNESDAY
BRIDGEWATER, MASS. -- The Bryant University men's and women's swim teams both continued their untarnished seasons with a set of wins over Bridgewater State on the road Wednesday night. The men swam to a 161.5-118.5 victory, while the women walked away with a 153-96 win in the dual meet.
The men took the top time in each of the 16 events, with five different swimmers taking two or more victories. Leading the way was junior Tom Ferrigno (West Chester, Pa.), who, in addition to swimming the first leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay, touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.95), the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.44) and the 200-yard IM (2:03.73).
Joining him with multiple first-place finishes were a trio of freshmen -- Steven Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.), Matt Derwin (Cheshire, Conn.) and Mike Gilligan (Cheshire, Conn.) -- as well as senior Ray Savner (Bethlehem, Conn.).
The men and women compete again, Saturday, Jan. 19, when they
travel to Adelphi University to face the Panthers in a 1:00 p.m.
dual meet.
