MEN TOP SAINT ROSE, 117-80, TO STAY PERFECT IN 2007-08 SEASON

SMITHFIELD, RI -- The men's and women's swim teams each took a victory from Saint Rose Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center Pool to remain unbeaten early in the 2007-08 campaign. The men took away a 117-80 win while the women trumped the Golden Knights, 117-82.
It was again the duo of freshman Steven Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.) and junior Tom Ferrigno (West Chester, Penn.) who led the men to a 5-0 mark, each earning two individual event wins.
Ferrigno took the top times in the 1650-yard freestyle (17:14.68) and the 400-yard IM (4:20.53). Nguyen touched first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.01) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:59.75).
Both the men and the women next compete in the Northeast-10s, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Times are to be announced.
