BRYANT MEN HEAD TO NEW ENGLANDS WITH 10-1 RECORD AFTER 110-53 WIN OVER PACE SATURDAY AFTERNOON
SMITHFIELD, RI -- Backed by three first-place times from junior standout Tom Ferrigno (West Chester, Pa.), the Bryant University men's swim team took a 110-53 win over Northeast-10 Conference foe Pace University Saturday afternoon at the University of Bridgeport.
Ferrigno touched the wall first in the 200 free (2:03.53), the 100 backstroke (1:03.53) and the 400 free (4:23.03) to lead the men, while senior captain Ray Savner (Bethlehem, Conn.) earned two victories of his own in the 100 free (57.49) and the 50 free (25.95).
Freshman Steven Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.) also notched a pair of wins, in the 100 individual medley in a time of 2:23.23 and in the 100 breaststroke, in a time of 1:16.87.
The men and women next compete at the New Englands on Friday,
Feb. 15, 2008.
