BRYANT MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING THIRD AFTER DAY ONE OF CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bryant men's and women's swim teams are currently third overall after the first day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships Friday evening at Southern Connecticut State University. The men have 115 points, trailing Southern Connecticut (153) and Bentley College (129). The women are also third with 112 points, trailing Southern Connecticut (160) and Le Moyne (147).
Leading the way for the men Friday Tom Ferrigno who placed second in the men's 1650 yard freestyle in a time of 16:36.36, just behind Southern's William Shupe's 16:21.54. Matt Derwin was seventh in a time of 18:24.20 while Greg Reed placed 19th in 20:47.86.
The men's 800 yard freestyle relay of Steve Nguyen, James Newton, Mike Gilligan, and Ferrigno placed third in 7:21.98.
The conference championships continue Saturday and Sunday.
