BULLDOGS FINISH FIRST DIVISION I SEASON WITH STRONG ECAC CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCES
CAMBRIDGE, MASS.- The Bryant men's and women's swim teams finished their first season of Division I competition Sunday at the ECAC Championships, with the men finishing 15th overall, scoring 69 points, and the women 21st, scoring 18 points.
Senior Tom Ferrigno (West Chester, Pa.) once again came up big on the men's side, placing 15th in the 200 butterfly with a 1:54.26, and 9th in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:10.16. He collected 10 points combined in the two events, bringing his three-day total to 23 points individually for the Bulldogs. Ferrigno was also the lead leg of the 400 freestyle relay team that finished in 14th, along with Zach Bowen (Linchefield, N.H.), Kevin McDonald (North Haven, Conn.) and Steven Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.), finishing in 3:13.37.
The women grabbed a big ten points with their 400 freestyle relay team of Jess Looney (Goffstown, N.H.), Amy D'Olympia (Mattapoisett, Mass.) , Jill Squillante (Sayville, N.Y.) and Lisa Zanchi (North Reading, Mass.), who finished with a time of 3:42.57 to take 12th place. The team finished 21st of 26 teams overall, with a three-day total of 18 points. The men were 15th of 23 teams, scoring a total of 69 points.
