NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Both Bryant's Men & Women Swim teams placed sixth, in the Northeast - 10 Swim/Diving Championships at Hutchinson Natatorium on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University. Southern Connecticut's Owls swim teams, captured first place after the first day of the Championship by placing first in 13 out of 20 events.
In the Women's 400 Yard Medley, Bryant's Andrea Geoffroy, Christa Berard, Kim Noto, and Kristen Brekne completed with (4:38.23) earning them fifth place. On the men's side Chris Desmarais, Tom Desbiens, Ricky Cosse, and Ray Savner finished the Men's 400 Yard Medley with (4:27.89) finishing with sixth place.
For the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle, Andrea Geoffroy completed with (2:10.89). During the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle.
The Women's 400 Yard IM, Bulldog's Danielle L'Esperance finished with (5:54.08), and teammate Monica Kraus touched the wall with (6:23.55). In the Men's 400 Yard IM, Nate Olszewski touched the wall with (4:50.15), fellow Bulldog Jamie MacDougall followed with (5:59.65).
During the Women's 100 Yard Butterfly event, Kristen Brekne timed with (1:05.69).
In the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke, Andrea Geoffroy reached the paint with (1:05.74).
In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay: Kristen Brekne, Christa Berard, Kim Noto, and Andrea Geoffroy finished with (1:47.17) earning them fifth place in the event. In the men's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay: Tom Desbiens, Chris Desmarais, Nate Olszewski, and Ray Savner completed the event wth (1:36.18) obtaining sixth place.
The Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke Kristen Brekne closed in with (1:19.68), teammate Christa Berard reached the end of the event with (1:22.06). On the men's side Nate Olszewski finished with (1.12.21) during the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke.
In the Women's 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, Bulldogs Danielle L'Esperance, Jess DePetrillo, Monica Kraus, and Kim Noto obtained sixth place in the event with (9:22.18). In the Men's 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, Nate Olszewski, Rickey Cosse, Ray Savner, and Tom Desbiens captured fifth place with (8:23.77).
The Northeast-10 Championships will continue today, at Southern
Connecticut State University. Bulldogs will then return
to the Chace Athletic Center's pool, when they host WPI on
January 14, at 2:00
PM.
