BRYANT MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIM TEAMS COMPETE AT UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITE
BRISTOL, RI- The Bryant University men's and women's swim teams competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, held Saturday at the Roger Williams University pool. There was no team scoring at the meet.
The Bryant men's and women's 400 yard medley relay squad each came away with wins. Jess Looney, Maragaret Dickinson, Alyssa Glass and Lauren Jette helped power the women's team to a win in four minutes, 28:54 seconds, while the men's relay team of James Newton, John Cieslewski, Nate Olszewski, and Ray Savner led the way for a first place finish in a time of 3:53.94.
Looney would also come away with wins in the 1650 yard freestyle in 18:55.31, the 50 breaststroke (35.01), 100 yard freestyle (58.05), 100 yard backstroke (1:04.83) and 100 yard butterfly (27.11). Margaret Dickinson was a winner in the 50 backstroke in 32.14 seconds and later in the 100 yard individual medley in 1:05.88.
James Newton took home first in the 200 free in 1:57.99 and the 100 yard buttefly in 59.01. Ray Savner was a winner in both the 50 yard free (22.71) and 100 yard freestyle in 50.69.
The Bulldogs host Pace Wednesday at the Chace Athletic Center Pool starting at 5:30 pm.
