Men's Tennis Falls to Bloomsburg 5-3 in NCAA Second Round
BLOOMSBURG, PA - The Bryant University men's tennis team fell to host Bloomsburg, 5-3 Friday in the second round of the NCAA Division II Men's East Regional as the Bulldogs conclude the season 21-3 overall.

Men's Tennis Defeats Adelphi 5-3 in NCAA Opener Thursday
BLOOMSBURG, PA - The Bryant University men's tennis team opened NCAA tournament play with a 5-3 win over Adelphi in the first round Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs will take on Bloomsburg in the second round on Friday starting at 10 am with the winner to advance to the round of 16 in Houston, TX.

Men's Tennis Selected to Third NCAA Tournament; Bulldogs Face Adelphi in First Round in Bloomsburg, PA
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University men's tennis team, champions of the Northeast-10 Conference for the first time since 1994, have been selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships next week in Bloomsburg, PA.
Bryant (20-3) and ranked No. 3 in the East Region, will open first round play against Adelphi University (13-8). Host Bloomsburg (14-5) will face Merrimack (10-6) in the other first round match with the winners to meet in the second round. The NCAA Round of 16 will take place May 14-17 in Houston, TX. First and second round dates and times have not been set but will run May 8-10.

Only Barbara Cillis strongest team in her eight years as head coach.
Despite leading their teams to titles and in Cillis case an undefeated conference record, neither Cilli nor Gendron was voted coach of the year.

Northeast-10 Champion Men's Tennis Places Five On All-Conference Team
SOUTH EASTON, Mass The Bryant University men's tennis team placed five players on the 2008 Northeast-10 All-Conference team released Sunday morning. Freshman standout Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) swept the major honors, winning both NE-10 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors as well as earning first team all-conference at No. 1 singles. Junior Jose Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) was named first team all-conference at No. 2 singles and Thomas Novak (Medfield, MA) was named first team all-conference at No. 4 singles.

CHAMPIONS: Skyhawks No Match As Bulldogs Win Men's Tennis Title 5-0 Sunday Afternoon
EASTON, MA For the first time since 1994, the Bryant University mens tennis team are champions of the Northeast-10 Conference. The Bulldogs, the best team in the conference all season long (10-0) and recently posting two wins over nationally-ranked teams (Kutztown and Mercy), captured the 2008 conference title with a 5-0 win over Stonehill College indoors Sunday at Stonehills tennis courts. The Bulldogs did not drop a single match during the run to the title; defeating Le Moyne 9-0 in the quarterfinals, Saint Michaels 5-0 in the semifinals and another 5-0 win over Stonehill in Sundays title match.

Men's Tennis Advances To Conference Championship Thanks to 5-0 Win Over Saint Michael's Thursday
SMITHFIELD, RI The Bryant University men's tennis team advanced to the conference tournament championship with another strong performance Thursday in the Northeast-10 Conference semifinals. The Bulldogs earned solid wins at all three doubles matches to open and followed with wins by Jose Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) at No. 2 singles and Kevin Levinson (Pawcatuck, CT) at No. 6.
Bryant will face Stonehill College in Sunday's final in Easton, MA starting at 1 p.m. The Skyhawks downed Merrimack 5-0 in Thursday's other semifinal.

Men's Tennis Opens NE-10 Tournament Play With 9-0 Win Over Le Moyne
SMITHFIELD, RI - After posting one of the greatest wins in Bryant men's tennis history, a 5-4 win over No. 45 Mercy Sunday, the weary Bulldogs fought off a determined Le Moyne Dolphin team Tuesday afternoon for a 9-0 win in Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinal round action. The Bulldogs, the top seed of the conference tournament, will advance to face either Bentley or Saint Michael's Thursday at the Bryant Tennis Courts in the semifinals.

Balistrieri and Nowak Lead Men's Tennis Past Mercy 5-4
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant freshman Cristian Balestrieri and sophomore Tom Nowak came up with big wins Sunday afternoon to lead the Bryant men's tennis team to a 5-4 win over Mercy College in non-conference action at the Bryant Tennis Courts. The win, Bryant's 17th of the season (17-3), is the final regular season victory of the year as the Bulldogs open Northeast-10 Conference playoff action this week. Bryant is the top seed of the tournament. Mercy entered the match tied with Bryant tied at 45th in the national rankings.

The Bentley mens team comes into this weeks match with a record of six wins and three losses in the conference, while the womens team posts a record of eight wins and a single loss.

Men's Tennis Cruises Past AIC 9-0 on Senior Day
SMITHFIELD, RI It was senior day at Bryant University for the men's tennis team and under beautiful sunny skies, the senior class came through in style in leading the Bulldogs to a 9-0 win over visiting American International Tuesday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Complex.
Prior to the match, Bryant seniors Craig Drushella (Harwich, MA), Kevin Levinson (Pawcatuck, CT), Mike Pickowicz (Bedford, NH), and Donald Silva (East Taunton, MA) were honored by coach Ron Gendron. Once the match started, the seniors took over.

Men's Tennis Defeats Southern NH 9-0 Sunday
MANCHESTER, N.H. The Bryant University mens tennis team kept to its winning ways, posting a 9-0 win over Southern New Hampshire Sunday afternoon. The win moves the Bulldogs to 13-3 overall and 7-0 in the Northeast-10. The Bulldogs will return to action Tuesday hosting American International College at the Bryant Tennis Courts starting at 3 p.m.

Gardiner Comes Through As Men's Tennis Tops Queens 5-4
SMITHFIELD, RI Entering the week with the schools first-ever national ranking and number three regional ranking, the Bryant mens tennis team knew that Saturdays match against Queens was going to be one of the toughest of the year. The Knights came in ranked No. 6 in the region and looking to move up. But behind the stellar play of Kevin Gardiner, the Bulldogs pulled out a dramatic 5-4 win to move to 12-3 on the season.

Men's Tennis Nationally Ranked For First Time

Thanks to a strong fall season and a recent successful week in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the Bulldogs enter the week ranked No. 3 in the East Region and more importantly, find themselves ranked No. 44 nationally by the ITA.

SMITHFIELD, RI -- The Bryant University men's and women's tennis teams, both undefeated in Northeast-10 Conference play, set the bar high for the 2008 campaign, debuting at No. 3 in the season's first NCAA Regional Poll, released April 2.
At 11-3 overall, the Bulldog men have excelled under second year coach Ron Gendron. They boast an 8-2 in-region record, a 6-0 mark in Northeast-10 Conference action and are ranked No. 3 in both the NCAA East Regional Poll and the ITA East Regional Poll. The Bryant men enter the first ranking week coming out of a 7-1 March, highlighted by a 5-4 victory over then-No. 28 Kutztown on March 11 that marked the program's first-ever win over a nationally ranked team.

MEN'S TENNIS TRUMPS LE MOYNE, SAINT MICHAEL'S WITH BACK-TO-BACK 9-0 WINS
EAST HARTFORD, CONN. - The Bryant men's tennis team took back-to-back 9-0 wins this weekend over a pair of Northeast-10 Conference rivals, first topping Le Moyne College in East Hartford, Conn. Saturday and then taking down Saint Michael's College Sunday in Colchester, Vt.
The victories moved the Bulldogs to 11-3 on the year while keeping them an undefeated 6-0 in conference play.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC The Bryant mens tennis team capped their Spring Break trip to Hilton Head with a tough 6-3 loss to regional power Bloomsburg Friday. The loss snaps Bryants six-game win streak including four strong wins this week in Hilton Head, SC. The Bulldogs dropped two of three doubles points to open the match with Jose Rodriguez and Thomas Nowak playing well in holding on for a tough 8-5 win over Ryan Chow and Daniel Phillips at No. 2 doubles.

Bryant Men's Tennis Ranked No. 5 Regionally by the ITA
SMITHFIELD, RI - After a successful fall tennis season, the Bryant University Mens Tennis Team is ranked fifth in the East Region in the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Regional Poll.
Bryant is the highest ranked team in the Northeast-10 Conference, followed by Stonehill College which is ranked at No. 8 in the ITA East Region poll. This is the highest ranking in schools history for a mens tennis team.

Jose Rodriguez Wins ITA Flight B Championship at Division II East Regional
BLOOMSBURG, PA Bryant University men's tennis freshman Jose Rodriguez became Bryant's first men's tennis ITA champion Monday, knocking off Arpit Sharma of Kutztown in the finals of B Singles by a score of 7-5, 6-2 on Monday. Roman Pavlik '97 was Bryant's last winner. Rodriguez posted four wins over the weekend to earn a spot in the finals Monday.

SMITHFIELD, RI The Bryant mens tennis team advanced to the Northeast-10 Semifinals with a 5-1 victory over fifth-ranked Saint Michaels Thursday afternoon.
With the victory, the Bulldogs will take on the winner of #1 Assumption/#8 Southern N.H. on Saturday (1 p.m.) at Bryant.
Dylan Whiting won both his matches, winning singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, and teaming up with Zach Goodman to win their doubles match 8-4. Kevin Gardiner and Craig Drushella won their doubles match 8-1 and each won a singles match to close out the victory for the Bulldogs.
