NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHP RESULTS

SMITHFIELD, RI -  Top-seeded Assumption College won its ninth straight Northeast-10 Conference Men's Tennis Championship, defeating third-seeded Bentley College 5-0 Sunday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Courts.   The Greyhounds swept all three doubles points to open Sunday's championship match and picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to clinch the victory.  Dave Marshall (Newington, Conn.) defeated Bentley's Mike McCrillis (Kennebunkport, Maine) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2 while freshman Tom Nowak (Medfield, Mass.) held off Mike Dolan (Shrewsbury, Mass.)  at No. 5, winning 6-4, 6-1.  For the 40th ranked Greyhounds, Sunday's win is Assumption's 20th-straight conference tournament match win and will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament May 3-5.
